Arrow 515 Fighting Fire with Fire Preview

Image
The Vigilante attacks Mayor Queen because of his corruption.  Felicity continues to use Helix, and frankly this makes me nervous because she's also "fighting fire with fire" by hacking the NSA.  John Diggle will organize the team to try and stop the Vigilante once and for all.  Directed by Michael Schultz and written by Speed Weed and Ben Sokolowski.   We apparently will see more Susan Williams.  I am still amazed that some people think this woman is not corrupt, but actually loves Oliver.  Seriously?  However, I think Oliver will reveal who he is to her and to all of Star City.  This will chart the course for the next several seasons.  Where will all this find Olicity?  Any thoughts?

Will Thea Queen become more Like Moria?

Image
Last week Oliver told Thea that she was just like her mother. Her mother would do anything to protect her family.  Moria had Oliver tortured to prove that he didn't know anything about the undertaking.  She lied about Thea's father. She payed off baby mama so Oliver would n't marry the woman, she had her second husband abducted, and she paid to have someone kill Malcolm Merlin.  That's just what I have remembered that she's done. So was Oliver fair to say Thea was like her mother.  Thea has many strengths that Moria had. She's willing to fight for her brother.  She's shown she's a good friend.  I don't think we ever saw Moria as a friend.   Thea was a close friend to Laurel, and she is close to Felicity.  In the early years of Arrow Thea was always portrayed by Oliver as the "best" of the family.  He saw a goodness in her, and over time, through her involvement with Malcolm, and through her own choices, we have come to see  her as not

Oliver and Felicity Forever

Oliver has always been there to save Felicity.  In all seasons for always.  How will he save Felicity now?  Will Oliver be her light to pull her out of the darkness?  Why would he ever change?   Oliver and Felicity forever.

Stray thought on Arrow 514

Image
I've been thinking about the last Arrow episode 514.  As I said in my review, I feel that there is a huge similarity between Sebastian Blood and Adrian Chase, which leads me to come to the conclusion that Adrian Chase cannot be Prometheus , so he must be the Vigilante.    It makes so much more sense for his being the Vigilante.  The Vigilante lost someone at the hand the of the Arrow, and now he wants get the Arrow.  This leads me to think that Amanda Westfield is his mother, and that Justin Clayborne was his father.  Amanda didn't deny that her son was killing and so I thought perhaps, like Oliver, he was Prometheus, but since there are so many similarities between Blood and Chase, I have concluded Chase is the Vilgilante, and he is a pawn of Prometheus.  Since season 5 goes back to the first two season, it makes sense there would parallels between them.  Both Blood and Chase want to save their  city and change it.  Makes sense they might employ the same methods.  Blood bec

Olicity Tease?

Image
Marc Guggenheim put a tease for out on the web for Arrow.  We all knew he would go back to the island, but March teased that he won't be going back alone.  What do  you think?  Will he go back with just Felicity, OTA, or with the whole team.  John and Felicity have already been on the island in season 2.  They went to bring Oliver back after his mother's death, so it might be a fitting end if he goes back with the two of them.

Arrow 514 The Sin Eater Review

Image
The Sin Eater brings back three formidable female foes: China White, Carrie Cutter, and Liza Warner.  All three of these foes appeared in seasons one and two of Arrow. This whole season has referred back to the first two seasons.  I had forgotten about Liza Warner, until the brief flashback reminded me of who she was. The theme for last night's episode addresed the question,  Can you take on the responsibility of someone else's sins? Antaoly ,  in the Russia flashback, tells Oliver that he is a sin eater by wanting to take on other's sin. This is something Oliver has done for all 5 episodes, isn't it?  Wasn't he trying to make up for his father's sins by crossing off names on a list?  Oliver helped Anatoly in the hospital.  I am guessing that in the next episode we shall find that Oliver killed Gregor before Gregor could kill Anatoly. Quintin Lance feels guilt over Liza Warner, because Liza heard in prison that Lance worked with Damien Dahrk.  He was tak

Thought I would share a video my daughter made at the end of season 3.  Hope you enjoy it.

The Sin Eater

Female Villains return to Arrow in the episode called The Sin Eater. A sin eater is someone who takes on the sins of person or household.  Who will be the sin eater in this episode and whose sins will be eaten?  Any guesses?  China White, Cupid, and Liza Warner break out of prison to get Arrow.  Just as the Green Arrow is about to get them, along comes the ACU to arrest Arrow for the murder of Billy Malone. I'm asking myself two questions, Where is Felicity?  and How does Oliver get out of this?    If my Billy Malone speculation is correct, and that Slade Wilson is behind all this, he certainly knows how to get at Oliver to try and take him down.  Looks like a good episode right?  What are your thoughts?

Septre of the Gun..Why it Didn't Work

Image
When I wrote my review last night, I wrote that I didn't care for it, but I didn't share why.  I need time for the episode to gel in my mind. That's the way I work, and perhaps that's why I may not be the best reviewer. You, the reader will have to be the judge of that. I just write what my first thoughts, let them sit, and then write.  I don't always have time on my side. I understand that Marc Guggenheim wanted this episode to make a statement. I also understand the he is probably a progressive who wants gun control and thinks that having more gun control will make the country safer. I get that.  He has every right under the first amendment to do that.  I also think he did want to try and portray both sides, which I am glad he did, because not all viewers are progressives, some are conservatives.  If he had't at least tried to show both sides, it would have been like saying conservatives shouldn't be viewers.   However what I am wondering is why on eart

Arrow 513 Septre of the Gun Review

Image
This episode of Arrow was directed by Kristin Windell and written by Marc Guggenheim.  It addressed the issue of gun control. It surprised me a little that Arrow would would pick a topic a little more politcal and related to current issues.  Arrow always seemed a little "other" world to me. That being said, I thought they handled both sides well.  My husband was clearly on the same side as Rene, and I thought that was fun to see.  Usually he doesn't comment much when we watch, but he even thought this was a different area for Arrow. I credit Marc Guggenheim for portraying both sides fairly well. Okay, I got that out of the way, now on to the heart of the characters.                  Rene's origin story was moving and well handled.  I have truly come to like this character.  Rick Gonzalez brings heart and soul into Wild Dog.  He makes us care for Rene and we feel his pain.  I enjoyed this part of Arrow.  The bantering back and forth between Curtis and Rene was good,
