Why the Olicity Marriage Will Be a Good Thing for Arrow

Image
From this:                   to                                                                                      this:  Some fans of Arrow, though happy that Oliver and Felicity are now married, they may be disappointed it didn't happen on Arrow and didn't have the beautiful wedding the fans had hoped for.  If you are one of those fans, take heart, because episode 9 promises to give us the moments we savor, whether they retake their vows in front of friends, or if it's just a reception, we get the rings, the bouquet, and the beautiful cake.  The wedding we got on the crossover had the right feel for this couple.  After all the angst of will they, won't they, and even the scare of Felicity vocally telling Oliver no, Felicity blurting out the question to Oliver gave the right tone.  It summarized who they are as a couple.  From the moment  she looked at Oliver's picture, she loved him.  It was during season 2 that Oliver realized he loved Felicity. They'

The Ending of the Crossover and Wow

Image
I am going to cut to the chase and say, wow, what an ending to a crossover that was more like a movie than part  of  a weekly series, and THEY ARE MARRIED, FINALLY AND LEGALLY Since I don't watch Legends and am not familiar with all it's characters, in this blog today I going to focus on the people who inhabit Central City and Star City, from Flash and Arrow.  Also part of that reason is that I have a heavy teaching day with four classes and 3 violin students and a rehearsal with a junior ensemble. My day is busy so this may be brief.  I was a bit disappointed that we didn't see much Cisco or Diggle in this crossover event.  They are two special people.  When we see Harry Wells in the "prison" for want of a better word, bouncing that ball, I thought of the movie the Great Escape with Steve McQueen doing that, and to me that foreshadowed their getting out.              Iris and Felicity:  They are interesting pair of women.  They worked well toge

Thoughts on Crisis on Earth X Part 1

As I have stated before, I am not a fan of crossovers, because it compels one to watch shows they normally would not watch.  So I have mixed feelings on this.  The action moved quickly and the fight scenes amazing.  At one point when everyone fought and the speedsters ran and lights flashed, I almost felt overwhelmed.  Normally, I don't watch crossovers unless they are part of Flash and Arrow, for those are the two I watch.  However, that was not possible on this, because it felt more like a movie than a series.  The setting for the event is the wedding of Barry and Iris.           Olicity:  It seems that Oliver and Felicity almost switched places with season 4.  Oliver wants to get married.  I loved the scene with Barry and Oliver and Barry tells Oliver that they both got the girl. Barry says, "Having someone we love by our side give us something to fight for."  Barry asks Oliver if he loves Felicity and Oliver says, "I love her so much," and his face

Crossover Event

Tonight begins the Crossover Event.  Stephen Amell said this was an event, because it really isn't about Arrow crossing over into Flash for an hour.  This will be unlike anything they've done before.  I am not keen on Crossovers, and unless it is for Flash or Arrow, I don't watch.  But I understand we can't do that for this event, because they are all intertwined.  If it were not for the fact that I might miss an Olicity wedding, I probably wouldn't tune in.  I will blog about what my take on the shows.                  Everyone will come together in tonight's episode for the Barry and Iris' wedding.  On last weeks Flash, Iris must have mentioned 10 times that their wedding was a week away, we can probably guess something happens and the wedding gets interrupted.  So the first hour tonight will be the circumstances that interrupt the wedding.  Will they end up married by the end of Tuesday night's episode, well that's anyone's g

Arrow 607 Thanksgiving

Image
This Thanksgiving episode, stuffed  with lots of  surprises, brought Oliver back as the Green  Arrow. Let's  get started.        Family:  For me this episode cemented Oliver, Felicity, and  William as a family.  The show begins with the  three of them helping the SCPD raise food for over 1200 needy Star  City families.  William stands by his  Dad while Felicity talks to a reporter. William tells  his  Dad that he should go rescue Felicity from  the reporter, which Oliver does and each compliments the other.   William has accepted Felicity  into  his  life.  I think Arrow will build on this in the episodes  ahead.  I also think that when Oliver lied to William about being the Green Arrow after Diggle is  hurt, it could cause another rift between Oliver and William.  My guess is that Felicity and  Thea will help William to see the good that his father can do, and will help  him to overcome his fears about Oliver being the Green  Arrow. Felicity and Curtis: We found out that Curti
