The Redemption of Star City: Review of Arrow 722

I know this was  a season finale, but for me, this clearly was a Series Finale; it ended the series with grace, dignity, and beauty.  Stephen Amell had stated that he told the  writers to write season 7 as if  it were the last.   The last ten minutes, as wonderful as they were, seemed just a bit rushed.  I would like to have seen the episode a special, longer one, extended to an hour and a half. It wouldn't feel as rushed. That being said, I felt satisfied that it ended with grace and dignity and that Oliver and Felicity, in spite of all the hardships they had to endure, finally are together at last.  Let's get the tissues and begin.          Oliver and Emiko:   Emiko and the Ninth Circle are about to unleash a bio weapon on Star City, and it's up the team to stop them.  This is another area that felt a bit rushed.   I know that people felt Emiko as villain fell flat and she wasn't up to the status of an Adrian Chase or a Deathstroke, but for me it worked.  Th

Living Proof: Arrow 721 Review

Living Proof proved to be an interesting title for me.  Oliver's  living proof that people change; we have living proof of the power of forgiveness and sacrifice in the story between Roy and Dinah.  Both of these are compelling story lines.  In the Flash Forward's we have living proof in Felicity's steadfast need  to protect her children at all costs.  This episode sets up the final episode with the reason why Felicity goes into hiding.        Oliver and Tommy:  I so enjoyed the interaction between these two.  In the beginning Tommy serves as Oliver's conscience.  The struggle that Oliver has always had still lays inside himself.  It serves to ask can a person ever be free of the past?  Both Tommy and Oliver were affected by the lives of their Fathers.  The scene with the two of them begins by Oliver calling for "Overwatch, and John." His first thought is of his wife and then John.  The two who have been with him from the beginning. The two that un

Confessions: Arrow 720 Review

For me this episode  moved slowly, by this  time there should feel  a sense  of a pushing forward with rapid pace.  This  episode dragged on for  me.   The whole episode is set up to move Felicity  out of the  future episodes of Arrow, since  she  has  announced she's  leaving. Let's  get started.  Oliver and Felicity:   For me the heart and soul of Arrow has always been Oliver and  Felicity together.  I know many  people expected a 720 similar to 320 and 520 however, I never did. My reason for this is because of just where we are  at.  Emiko and the Ninth  Circle want to release a biological weapon in Star City  that will harm thousands.  Oliver and the  team will  have to find her and disarm the weapon, and they don't know fully  what a  formidable  foe they face.  There  is no time for those kinds of moments with Oliver and Felicity, but we  did have  those special  moments that  show  how deep their love is.  Felicity's touches of Oliver  when  he's
