Season One Oliver Parallels Season Five Felicity

Image result for image oliver queen crossing off names on his list  Season one Oliver was all about righting the wrongs of his father.  Crossing names off his list was a way to honor his father's memory.  All the darkness of the trials he endured on the island lead him back to Starling City a changed and darker young man.  But Felicity and Diggle showed him a different way  to honor his father's memory by being the kind of man of whom his  father could be proud.  They showed him that vengeance is not the same thing as justice.  You can have justice without vengeance.  It has taken Oliver a long time to learn this.  He doesn't like the darkness, because he knows how it can overtake a life.  He doesn't want this for Diggle or Felicity.

Image may contain: 4 people, eyeglasses and text After watching season one again, I see that what Oliver was in the beginning of season one, Felicity is now.  She just wants to bring to justice the people that is on the Helix file.  Oliver wanted to protect the memory of his father.  Felicity wants to somehow to retaliiate for Billy's death and for Prometheus causing Oliver to be the one to kill Billy.  She's open Pandora's box, and now the darkness is unleashed on her.  She's keeping secrets from those she loves, just like Oliver did.  She wants to write an injustice, just like Oliver did.  She wants to hide her pain behind so called justice, just like Oliver did.  Now it must be Oliver to draw Felicity into the light, and show her a better way.

If you haven't seen season one in a while, I recommend watching it,  because there are so many parallels to this season.   It also seems clearer to me as watch season one again, that there is a possibility for Slade Wilson's son to be Prometheus.  How would Felicity feel if Billy is truly Prometheus?  Rather blows the mind, doesn't it?  What say you?

  1. I think it would be awesome if Billy were alive and it was Prometheus, Slade's son ... it would be really great, a lot more than if it were Tommy, at least in my opinion.
And yes, Felicity has become the Oliver of season 1, which is fantastic because it`s this personality change that will bring them together.

  2. This will help her understand Oliver in a deeper way than she ever has. It will also help her to see that he won't abandon her nor will he keep secrets from her. I always enjoy your comments. I even used one to write a blog post. 😊
