A Hero's Journey

Image
What makes a hero?  We associate great courage and noble qualities with a  hero.  Oliver certainly has those.  Arrow,  for me, is like the Greek myths and legends of  old.  Oliver Queen reminds  me  of Odysseus.  Odysseus was the hero  of the Trojan war, whom Calypso holds captive.  Odysseus is  basically the story of   a man  who  wanted to go home.  Oliver has been on a homeward journey himself.  In the first five years, he wanted to go home to Star  City  and  his family.  When he meets Felicity, doesn't think he can be the hero Star City  needs and  have the family he  so  longs for.  Felicity finally convinces  him that he can have both worlds that of being a hero in the light while  at the same time having  a family. Another aspect of a  hero's  journey...

Felicity Gif of Hope

Look closely at Oliver's words, and then where the camera pans to next. "...No matter how much I love them.  Oliver loves Felicity.  The writers of the  show are giving us hope.  Let's hang onto it.  I have another blog post coming on Laura and one on why the writers  chose not to have anyone comfort Felicity.  It all makes sense. Have hope, people. :)

Okay, Folks.. Stephen Amell has Hope for Olicity

I love RiRi's Facebook Page, Olicity-Arrow, and she has given me permission to quote her post.                         From RiRi:  Just met Stephen for his autograph. I told him about this page and how everyone is freaking out I asked him if there's still hope for Olicity he said, "There's always hope. Don't give up." He also asked me, "but don't you still love their scenes together this year?" And I said absolutely. I will always love their scenes. He did joke and say more than once Billy has to die first. I told him to make it happen! Lol. But he said don't give up on them. So, those who were fretting, can relax a little.  ðŸ˜ƒ More thoughts coming soon.  I have a busy week ahead with school and Thanksgiving trip for a family reunion, but keep checking back. Thanks for your support.

Arrow 505 Human Target Review

Image
As I read some twitter posts, I hesitated to watch Arrow. I considered watching later and choose the World Series instead, but my hope in the Arrow writers won out and I watched.  I don't know what some of you were watching, but I found hope in this episode. Tonight provided lots of action to be sure, and my  heart ached for Rene and the trouble in was in with Tobias Church, who is the epitome of evil. He certainly didn't mean to tell that Oliver Queen was the Arrow, but if the Green Arrow is  a hero in the light, then people are going to learn who he is, right?  I see the reason for secrecy, but really it is bound to happen.  John Diggle is back in the lair, and didn't that feel good, and doesn't he look good?  He seems accepting of the new team, and I loved the way he helped Rene to work through what happened so he not only could remember what he needed to, but he could help him to get back into the field.  They all worked  together ...
