The Demon Arrow 705

Image
This  episode of Arrow had  some very enlightening moments that might have been easy to  miss. It offered some surprises as well.  I  enjoyed  this episode, but I  still feel there needs to be some  connection to the  ARGUS story-line, but I can't quite  figure that out yet.                 The Demon:  Frankly, I feel rather stupid for not figuring  this  out, but the  Demon we  learn  is  Talia.  She is the daughter of the Demon, and  so it made sense to have her be the  Demon.  I had thought it was Dr. Parker or even  Stanley, so it was a surprise to find it was Talia, but not such a huge surprise, since I  had forgotten totally about this character. I had to stop and think, "Who is Talia?"  She survived Lian Yu because of the drug of  Diaz.   Apparently Talia arranged  the whole  prison thing a...

The Mystery of Susan Williams

Image
Susan Williams has been a mystery to me.  The writers have not made me care for or about her.  None of the reviews I have read had anything positive to say about her.  So what's her purpose?  Because, seriously, no one considers that Oliver could ever consider  her the love of his life, the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.  When Oliver rescued her, he got her lose, and told her to go, not hugs, no long looks. Yes, I know he had to get her out of there, but he needed to get Felicity out too, but he hung onto her, and Felicity even had to repeatedly tell Oliver that she was there. She's not much of  a reporter.  Would an honest journalist use sex to get info on a person?  I don't think so, not even in this age of  "fake news". Most of what she got from her escapade, she already knew.   Perhaps the writers want use her to make Felicity realize how important Oliver is to her.  The writers did nothing to end...

Speculations! Just Because It's Fun

Image
Okay, you know who I hope Prometheus is not, but I thought it would fun to toss in a speculation about whom it it might be fun to see Prometheus being!  What if the big bad is a woman?  How cool would that be?   It could be Talia.  Prometheus has moves like Talia, so either it is a person trained by Talia, or it could actually be her.  My only problem with it being Talia, is that from all accounts that have been posted on the web, the big bad goes back to season one.  Talia was not in season one.  However, she does figure highly in the Russia flashbacks.  She knew all about what happened on the island and beyond. Also, do you remember when Oliver gave Prometheus diazapam?  It had no affect on Prometheus, and of course we know that the persons from the League of Assassins are immune from sedatives, right? Nothing seems hidden from her, so she could want revenge for her father's death at Oliver's hands. It could be Shado, and  I've writ...

Arrow 511 Second Chances Review

Image
Last night Arrow gave us the new Black Canary aka, Tina Boland, whom we find out at the end is really Dinah Drake.  Of course we know that Laurel's first name was Dinah, so this is Arrow's new Black Canary.  She got her Canary Cry in Central City at the time of the  particle accelerator explosion.  She knows how to fight, because she had been CCPD  Clearly, Juliana Harkavy can act.  Her performance was both believable and authentic.  She holds her own with Oliver. As I have stated before, I know zero about comic books or comic book icons, so I had to do a little research as to why the showrunners found it necessary to give us a Black Canary, when there seems to be plenty on board who can help Oliver fight crime. Apparently the original Black Canary in the 1947 comics was named Dinah Drake, so this is a wink at history.  I guess the Green Arrow has always had a Black Canary, and since Arrow is taken from the Green Arrow, then it would seem...

Coming up Second Chances

Image
From what is reported online, Talia al Ghul figures prominently into finding out who Prometheus really is.  I am thinking  we can rule out Adrian Chase,  since all that went down with Prometheus  and Arrow occurred while Adrian helped save John  Diggle from General who is trying to kill him. Did Talia give that information to Prometheus? Part of me wishes it would be Malcom Merlin, because it would be good to see him go down, but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none. Second  Chances  promises to be an interesting episode, and we will be back in Russia. Apparently Oliver needs Talia to help bring down Kovar, but she  wants something in return and Oliver isn't sure he can deliver.  What are your  guesses?
