Arrow 522 Review: Missing

Image
These Olicity moments are what the viewers have been "missing" on Arrow. This season has been the best season of Arrow in many ways from the story to the best villain that has ever appeared on Arrow.  Even with all the angst of not having Felicity and Oliver on the same page has made for a good story.  We've seen so much character growth from our hero and of those around him.  So now for my reveiw: Oliver and Felicity:  The show begins with Oliver and Thea talking, and how we have missed these two. They are moving on with their lives, and Thea wants to go out to dinner with Oliver, but he says he has someplace to go.  Who didn't love Thea's, "Well, I hope it's not with Susan Williams."  When he said it was with Felicity, he looked so shy and cute.  Who didn't love the flirting these two did revealed the sexual tension between the two. When they agreed to take it one step at a time, we all know that these two will be reunited. Viewers' hear...

Arrow 522 Missing

Chase, isn't done tormenting Oliver.  He picks off Oliver's team one by one.  Felicity gets dragged off by someone, and then Chase says, "My friends have orders to kill yours...I think you're about to get a phone call."  We know they all end up in Lian Yu.  Chase is crazy enough to do what Ivo did, and make Oliver choose who lives and who dies only this time with Felicity and William. This will be Oliver's truest trial.  He will have to draw on his own inner strength and light to do this sine both Felicity and Diggle are gone.  I think this season has prepared him to do just that, and episode 20 laid the foundation. Facing the truth with Felicity has helped him to see how she was right, and he is indeed not the same kind of person as Chase.  How will he do it?  I for one, can't wait to see, and Missing is going to show us how he draws on his own inner strength to be the Green Arrow.

Book one of Arrow ends and Book Two Begins

Lian Yu confirmed by Marc Guggenheim!    Well, at least one of my speculations turned out correct, the whole team will end the season in Lian Yu!  I am excited about this and of course we will have more of Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson, and Katie Cassidy as the Black Siren. With the title of episode 22 Missing, I am thinking that Felicity kidnapped and taken to Lian Yu, and the rest of the team will head there to find her.   Do you remember that twice Slade threatened Felicity?  Perhaps Chase knows Slade, and we know Chase knows Black Canary so I think we shall see more of that since we know that Katie Cassidy will be back in the last two episodes as the Black Canary,  and she will become a regular cast member next season. Frankly, I don't know that we need the Black Siren as a regular cast member, so that one puzzles me. If any of my readers know  why the showrunners are doing that, please post why.     With...

Thoughts on Season 5 of Arrow: The Adversity of Oliver and Felicitiy

Image
Adversity does not build character, it reveals it .  We know that Oliver before his island experience  played around with women. He thoughtlessly went from girl to girl and he never focused on anyone or anything but himself.  Or did he?  We know that Oliver did show some remorse when he received the phone call saying that his baby had died.  He showed glimpses of the character that we know as Oliver Queen. His time on the island revealed to Oliver what already lay hidden in his character and in his heart.  So the five years he spent on the hellish island served to show Oliver who he really was in his heart.  He was a good man who wanted to do right but had no foundation.  The island adversity became his foundation.  He wanted to save people not hurt them.  He never wanted to kill Shado to save Sara. He didn't want to "kill" Slade Wilson; he thought he had no other choice.  As he told Felicity, when he saw people,  he s...
