  To say that  we  were  all shocked to  hear on Saturday, March 30th, that Emily  Bett Rickards  would leave Arrow at the  end  to this current season, would  be  an understatement.  Many were ready to  quit watching, some blamed  Stephen Amell, and some  even  blamed Emily for not waiting to start her next project until the  shortened season  8 ended.  It's always sad when  a show towards the  end  loses main characters  that we have  all grown  to love.  You can switch  actors in movies with sequels because so much time passes  between the sequels that viewers  adjust more readily.  However, television is so  different, because these characters are in our homes  each week,  and the viewer becomes more invested in the characters, so  when  one  leaves, the absence is  keenly felt.      ...

Sometimes it takes me a while to digest the whole of a show; especially if the show is one that has many different themes or ideas.  Arrow, on its very best show, has different sometimes, for me anyway, hidden themes.  So I have some  added  thoughts on Episode 10, Who Are You?" The use of green: In literature green often symbolizes harmony, and peace. Green often symbolizes growth.  We had lots of green in this episode.  We saw Oliver and Felicity together  within a green background or setting.  As the season progresses we will see more of this color.  Oliver and Felicity have grown apart and now they have begun again to grow together.  We will see more of Susan, but the writers are working toward the growth of Oliver and Felicity.  Look how he protected her in the picture above.  He shielded her. Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak an overview :  Oliver is a  complex character, and a hallmark  of good writing is creating complex characters.  Arrow writers Marc Guggenheim, Greg Berlanti, and Andrew Kreisberg have created wonderful characters on Arrow.  They know how to build  character over time. Even when Oliver was the playboy billionaire before he left on  trip with his father, he was  a  little brooding and dark.  This has only deepened over time. Oliver learned that you  can't always trust the people that you think you know and love.  His  family taught him that, and the Island  fermented  that within him.  The Island experience served to train him to become  the Arrow, but goodness and the darkness formed while still in Star City.  Oliver is an exaggerated version of  all us, and that is why we can relate.  Oliver feels he as to do things alone, and I think  this struggle to...
