Felicity and Laurel Friendship

Image
I've been getting a lot of people asking me about the promo photos for 714.  Summed up the question is: Does Felicity tell Laurel and not Oliver about the baby?  People seemed concerned that Felicity will hide the truth from Oliver.  Let's dig in and see what we can discover. First, I don't think Felicity hides the truth from Oliver.  She places a high priority on the truth, so my guess is she does not lie.  Also, Mia knows her father is Oliver.  She tells William I am your sister. She could only say that if she knew Oliver was her Dad.  It's good to see female friendships on the screen.  We all have close friends we share things with.  That's been something missing from Felicity's life.  Her mom's not around, so she can't talk to her Mom.  Lyla's busy with ARGUS, so she can't talk to Lyla.   While I don't know that I trust E2 Laurel, she did stop Felicity from torturing the Silencer. Fe...

Just a Couple of Thoughts

Image
I have thought a lot about what Stephen Amell said in Portland.  Why did he say this now?  My guess is to stop Olicity fans from panicking when the redemption of Laurel Lance begins.  So if you are an Olicity fan, I wouldn't be afraid the redemption story-line, just roll with it.        Felicity is going to be very busy trying to keep the old Oliver from coming to the surface, especially if the James Gang tries messing with William.  Oliver is going to want to murder someone, and Felicity will have to hold him back.  Will he listen to her?

Deathstroke Returns: He is His Father's Son Arrow 605 Review

Image
Much happened in last evening's Arrow. Deathstroke  returned, we  got some of his backstory, we  meet  Joe  Wilson (aka Kane Wolfman), and we learned the identity of  the Vigilante.           Slade Wilson asks Oliver for help.  Slade appears different from Deathstroke  in that he  has more  compassion than Deathstroke.  He told Oliver you can't walk in two worlds, and we see  why  in this  episode, because  one world overtakes the other.  What's interesting is that he never wanted Oliver's help  as the Green Arrow, he  needed Oliver Queen  for diplomatic purposes.        Oliver  struggles with helping Slade.  Felicity walks in  after making quick remark about meta's a bachlorette  party, she asks  Oliver if he's going away with Slade.  Felicity encourages him to go, and he had hoped she'd say no....

Understanding Felicity Smoak

Image
I've watched again some of   the early Arrow episodes, and I think I am understanding Felicity better.  Felicity is funny, quirky, kind, caring, direct and  to the point, honest, and those are some of the things the viewers love about her.  She connects on-screen  with Oliver in real and personal ways.  They light up the screen.  But underneath all that humor, kindness, and joy that she has for life, lays a person that's afraid those she loves will walk away from her. In the second season, Felicity finds out that Malcom is Thea's father.  Because she is honest, she feels Oliver has a right to know, so goes to Moria asking her to tell her son about Thea's father.  Moria trys to convince Felicity that if Felicity told Oliver he would hate her.  Probably Felicity debated within herself about telling him, but in the end she decides to tell, reluctantly.  She begins by telling him, "You might have noticed that I talk a lot," and then...

Dangerous Liaisons Speculation

Image
Team Arrow will go up against team Felicity.  They have the same goal, but Felicity  is operating on the dark side, and might do something that she can never recover from.  In the above photo, Oliver says, "Don't do this, " and  Felicity responds with, "You'll have to stop me."  Game on.  Oliver will stop Felicity, and we are all looking forward as to the "how" he will do it. I have thought that somehow Prometheus had been behind Helix, but one of my Reader's in a post sent me to a link that I think  is worth reading.  Basically it says that Helix is a product of Lyla and Argus.  It makes so much sense. When Amanda Waller ran Argus, she used people as weapons.  She forced people to kill for Argus.  She forced Oliver and Maseo to kill for her, but when she died and Lyla took over, Lyla  wanted to do things differently.  So as the blog from Oliverdant speculates, Lyla sets up Helix and brings in hackers who willing...

Disbanded: Arrow 518 Review

Image
Oliver:  Chase has wounded Oliver's mind, so that he believes what he told Chase, that he is a killer at heart and loves to kill. He disbands the team, because he doesn't want the team to be hurt or killed, and he's worried that they might become like Chase himself.  Oliver's tortured soul over his friends, reveals that he is not the killer Chase wanted him to believe.  Stephen Amell did a great job of showing us how tormented he was.  His eyes spoke of pain. How could Chase in six days of torture cause Oliver to believe he is a killer?  It's because Oliver has always believed that he was.  He had never been fully convinced that he was anything different.  He always took the blame for wrongs done to him.  That's why he let Felicity walk away from him. That's why he didn't tell her the decision he made about William.  He shuts off a part of himself and won't or wouldn't let anyone f...
