Challenges for Oliver and Felicity in Dangerous Liaisons

Image
In Dangerous Liaisons, Oliver, as we can see from the spoiler photo, still can't put on this Arrow suit.  He wears what he wore when he first came back from Ivy Town.  Remember he said he was happy, and he didn't want to suit up again, but out of his love for Felicity he came back.  He realized, with Felicity's help, that he could still do some good, so he put on his new suit that I am thinking Cisco designed for him.  So, here he is at the end of Season 5, still questioning his identity.  He can't bring himself to put on the Arrow suit, because there is still a part of him that believes when he does, he gets pulled in to the darkness.  Notice too, no arrows but a gun. When he suits up with his Arrows this time, it will be  because he will do it for himself.  He will believe in what he's doing, and I also think it will be because he will need to rescue Felicity. ...

Oliver's Slow Cooker Egg Casserole

Image
My family knows that I love Arrow.  They also know that I love to have fun, and so this Easter  we would have our special egg breakfast, but with a new name:  Oliver's Slow Cooker Egg Casserole. Remember when Oliver made eggs in a crock-pot?  Felicity failed the omelet, but Oliver cooked slow cooker egg, and he impressed the neighbors?  I so enjoyed that story so much, so I renamed mine egg casserole in honor of Oliver. If you try it, I hope you enjoy it. Oliver's Crock-Pot Casserole Ingredients 1 dozen eggs 1 package of frozen hash browns, I use  about a 29 ounce package 2 Cups shredded Irish Dubliner Cheese ( a yummy blend of cheddar and swiss) 1 Tablespoon dry mustard Salt if you wish, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 cup cream (You can use milk) Oliver would never use sausage, because of his love for Felicity, however, you can use either a pound of maple flavored sausage, or a pound of chicken/apple sausage No stick spra...

Who Will Help Oliver?

Image
According to reliable sources, Oliver will reach out to questionable people for help.  Some suspect he will ask Slade Wilson to help him.  If so, what would Slade want in exchange?  How many times has he told Oliver, "I keep my promises?"  What would Oliver be risking by using Slade Wilson?                   What if he asks the Black Siren for help?  Oliver had a difficult time disassociating the Black Siren from the Laurel Lance he knew, and thought he could help her into the light.  So, perhaps he will ask for her help, and this would allow her to be a regular on the show and not a guest. Whom do you think Oliver will choose?

Book one of Arrow ends and Book Two Begins

Image
Lian Yu confirmed by Marc Guggenheim!    Well, at least one of my speculations turned out correct, the whole team will end the season in Lian Yu!  I am excited about this and of course we will have more of Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson, and Katie Cassidy as the Black Siren. With the title of episode 22 Missing, I am thinking that Felicity kidnapped and taken to Lian Yu, and the rest of the team will head there to find her.   Do you remember that twice Slade threatened Felicity?  Perhaps Chase knows Slade, and we know Chase knows Black Canary so I think we shall see more of that since we know that Katie Cassidy will be back in the last two episodes as the Black Canary,  and she will become a regular cast member next season. Frankly, I don't know that we need the Black Siren as a regular cast member, so that one puzzles me. If any of my readers know  why the showrunners are doing that, please post why.     With...

Understanding Felicity Smoak

Image
I've watched again some of   the early Arrow episodes, and I think I am understanding Felicity better.  Felicity is funny, quirky, kind, caring, direct and  to the point, honest, and those are some of the things the viewers love about her.  She connects on-screen  with Oliver in real and personal ways.  They light up the screen.  But underneath all that humor, kindness, and joy that she has for life, lays a person that's afraid those she loves will walk away from her. In the second season, Felicity finds out that Malcom is Thea's father.  Because she is honest, she feels Oliver has a right to know, so goes to Moria asking her to tell her son about Thea's father.  Moria trys to convince Felicity that if Felicity told Oliver he would hate her.  Probably Felicity debated within herself about telling him, but in the end she decides to tell, reluctantly.  She begins by telling him, "You might have noticed that I talk a lot," and then...

Oliver and Felicity at Odds

Image
The next episode of Arrow is the penultimate episode that marks the rush towards the end of the season.  These are often the most exciting episodes of the season, and this one looks no different.  Oliver and Felicity have kept a cordial coolness towards each other.  We have seen glimmers of  hope between them: a look here, a touch there, but there is an edge to their relationship.   Felicity is clearly upset over what Chase has done to Oliver, and she is determined to bring Chase down by any means she can using Helix.  Helix willingly  let her, but now will ask something very illegal and dangerous of her.  Oliver asks her not to do this, and Felicity challenges him by saying, "You'll have to stop me." I am pretty sure that Oliver will stop her, and that at the end of the episode we will find them ready  to face the demons they  both  have held inside. It's an interesting dynamic to have these two face off like ...
