Mystery of Blackstar
As this reviewer reads online articles and read the various Olicity Facebook posts and blogs, I see the ever increasing concern about the hopes of a Queen baby dashed. I'm hoping to reassure you that those are all misdirects from the writers. Tight-lipped Beth gives very little away. She hints that Felicity and Oliver are unconnected the Blackstar, whom we at first were told was to be Maya, but now we find her called Mia. Those who have followed Arrow for a long time understand all the misdirects.
We did hear that on episode 713 which is airs Monday, we will get a big reveal. I'm going out on a limb and say what one big reveal probably is. William's home and Oliver and Felicity are having trouble trying to reach and understand William. They are facing their first real parenting challenge. Felicity questions her ability to parent. Oliver's taking time off to address the parenting issues, and in the middle of this we find Felicity his pregnant. Now that would be a big reveal that would lead to Blackstar being Oliver and Felicity's daughter.
There is no way that Mia can be just a random character that is unconnected to our two main heroes. Arrow already has a plethora of characters that aren't fully fleshed out, and they add another one that has no connection to anyone else? No, I don't think so. Arrow has been the master of misdirect, but they all are good at giving us clues, if we are willing to look.
First, the name. If Mia is indeed the name, then that is a big clue that Beth wanted to keep secret, hence misleading everyone to think Maya will be the character's name. Mia Deardon was a name Thea gave herself in early episodes. Deardon is Moria's maiden name. I don't believe they would call her this if she were some random character.
Oliver and Felicity are both alive, or at least Felicity is. Felicity is no way evil. Remember the fern that was in there? When Roy, Dinah, and William found that room? The fern is always associated with Oliver and Felicity. Then we have the code that used both Arrows and computer tech, again pointing to both Oliver and Felicity. So Oliver was alive at some point for them to make the code the way they did. Also, if you noticed the destroyed bunker scene where Mia and Conner go, there is another fern.
Don't lose heart, Arrow is expanding it's story because our characters are expanding and growing. Is Arrow perfect? No, but no show is ever perfect. But stop and consider the signs and don't fall for the misdirect, my friends.
