The Redemption of Black Siren
Family is the theme this year on Arrow. Lance wanting to see his daughter in this doppelganger can be understandable from the viewpoint of family, no psychiatrist would ever recommend stealing away a doppelganger of your daughter and then make her believe she is your daughter. Isn't that what Lance wants to do. He sees "goodness" in her. Did she hesitate to kill Vincent. Maybe for a millisecond. Was she trying to save Star City from annihilation by admitting that she was the mole on James's team? Or did she know, as I think is the case, that the closer she got to James, the closer she was unlocking the collar around her neck. When she says, "Daddy" or "Dad" is there any kind of sincerity in her voice? I don't think so.
Yet, the chatter on blogs and the internet centers on the Redemption of Laurel Lance. Some Olicity fans wonder what this means for Oliver and Felicity. I am not worried, because I read this today from Buddy TV, "We talked about whether we should redeem her (and) how we should do so, but again, one of the advantages of having a show --knock on wood-- that you know is staying on the air you can have a long con," said Marc Guggenheim, "that to us is the thing that excites us writers. We really like planting seeds that don't come to fruition for many seasons." So will BS be redeemed, probably. Will it this season? Probably not.
No one changes overnight. I don't think we'll see an overnight change. It will occur over time, so sometimes we may see a redeemed BS, and sometimes we may not. That should make the show very interesting. It also would allow BS to play across the Arrowverse.
Note: I tried to find the Instagram photo of Katie Cassidy, but I couldn't get onto the page without violating copyright laws.
